Take a look how Maurice easily caught Josh everytime and slammed him into the floor like that. Sometimes a fighter should be heavy enough in order not to get slammed easily like this one. Josh is lacking of techniques though on how not to get caught easily like that and he didn’t use his height advantage and longer reach.

The monster card has been separated into two live broadcasts in the same night. A one-hour special will air on HDNet starting at 7:30 PM/ET (4:30 PM/PT), followed by a sensational pay-per-view event, Trilogy, commencing at 9 PM/ET (6 PM/PT).

The number one heavyweight fighter in the world Fedor “The Last Emperor” Emelianenko will defend his WAMMA heavyweight title against the United States number 1 contender Josh “The Babyfaced Assassin” Barnett at the Affliction / M1-Global’s Trilogy at Honda Center on August 1st 2009, live on pay-per-view from Honda Center in Anaheim, California.

This event is promoted by Golden Boy Promotions and presented by Affliction M-1 Global in association with Donald J. Trump. The event will features many of the premier MMA fighters in the world.

Emelianenko’s record is (30-1-0) and Barnett is (24-5-0), now on this fight one will surely gonna have a loss record, who will it be? Will it be the Russias most popular performer and a genuine Russian icon, the darling of the Kremlin and a favorite of former Russian president, Vladimir Putin or will it be America’s UFC heavyweight champion, Barnett (24-5-0), who has the size of (6-3, 250-pounds), strength, conditioning and experience to present problems for any fighter?

Dana White promised UFC fans at the post UFC 100 press conference last weekend that Brock Lesnar vs Fedor Emelianenko will happen very soon. We knew that Fedor didn’t sign with the UFC because he was committed to a non-exclusive, two-year and six-fight deal with M-1 Global in October 2007 and until now he still not sure to be with the UFC event. White promised that he can get the WAMMA heavyweight champ Fedor Emelianenko to the UFC soon, but how soon? Because the only problem is, Emelianenko is currently signed to Affliction Entertainment.

Affliction VP Tom Atencio spoke regarding White’s presumptuous comments.

“It’s not something that I even think about,” Atencio said regarding the possibility of his biggest draw bolting to the UFC. “It doesn’t phase me what [Dana White] says. [The UFC] can talk, but I just don’t see it happening, personally. But if it does, then perfect. As a fan, that’s something that I would love to see.”

“Eventually, Fedor’s going to be here. I want Fedor. I want him to come to the UFC,” White matter-of-factly stated. “We’ll end up getting that deal done. And then we’ll do Brock vs. Fedor, and it’ll be a huge fight.”

But Atencio will not just let Fedor go just as easy as “yes you can get our best fighter he is all yours.” because his reps will pave the way for a seamless contract extension.

“They’re going, they’re good,” Atencio said regarding contract talks with Emelianenko and Co. “We’ve almost finalized it, but we just haven’t signed the papers. That’s really where we’re at. Everything is moving forward, it has nothing to do with anything but the fact that we’re just trying to make everybody happy, as I always do.

“We have a great relationship with them and we’re always going to continue on with that, and that’s why I’m not too worried about things.”

“We’re gonna move forward with M1-Global, they’re our partners . . . we are looking to bring him on until 2012,” Atencio said.

Emelianenko is managed by Vadim Finkelchtein, who just so happens to be the owner of M-1 Global. So I think with that, Fedor Emelianenko vs. Brock Lesnar on UFC will not happen just yet or soon, or maybe it won’t really happen. But lots of people would love to see the two fights in whatever ring that is. Maybe if Affliction will end soon then it will happen, since some said that the next Affliction show will be their last. But with what Dana confidently said about getting Fedor on the Octagon, does it mean Dana will buy Affliction?

Brock Lesnar triumphantly get hold of his revenge with interim champ Frank Mir by TKO at 1:48 of round 2 of UFC 100 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Some described him as that of the comic book character, muscular and violent but not quite green. It was an untainted devastation for Frank Mir. This time, Brock learned his mistakes from his previous brawl with Mir. By avoiding Mir’s attempts to grab his legs and concentrate whacking Mir’s face. Until such time that he had Mir trapped on his stomach against the cage, then Brock starts to blow enormous punches that made the referee stop the fight.

Expectedly, Lesnar continued his trash talk after the fight that garnered a booing from the people. It is not a surprise though, because even in the interviews prior days to the fight, both fighters talked about themselves and how they deserve to be the UFC champion.

Now that Brock Lesnar acquired his revenge, do we see a rematch against Mir? I hope not and we can expect Brock Lesnar vs Fedor Emelianenko soon as Dana White Promised UFC fans at the post UFC press conference as reported at AOL Fanhouse.

“This whole Fedor thing has been going on and on and on. I keep saying this and that about him and he keeps waiting. Eventually, Fedor’s going to be here. I want Fedor. I want him to come to the UFC and everything else.

“This guy just became the heavyweight champion. We’ll end up getting that deal done. And then we’ll do Brock vs. Fedor, and it’ll be a huge fight.”

———-

Sporting a horrible black eye that was given to him by Forrest Griffin, Frank Mir discusses his mental preparation for his rematch with Brock Lesnar, why the UFC has the best heavyweight division, Lesnar’s unworthiness, and the potential historical legacy of the fight.
And here’s the part 2 of the interview…

Some commented that:

…and here’s from another fan:

Mir is trying to make himself believe he can win, that’s why he talks the way he does. Lesnar talks a lot but too at least he believes what he says and isn’t just psyching himself up.

It’s been few more days to come and we will see how Mir and Lesnar fights for the win. Would it be Lesnar’s revenge fight or Mir’s second triumph over Lesnar? we will uncover that this Saturday at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas and we will see how they are making History in the Mixed Martial Arts

The world’s largest MMA organization and Limp Bizkits’ label, Interscope Records, hit a snag in negotiations regarding DVD rights, as well as the venue location itself.

The rap-metal music group “Limp Bizkit” announced that they cannot perform live at UFC 100. It has been rumored that they will perform at the fight of the year for MMA but unfortunately the group was previously scheduled to perform at the Mandalay Bay Beach while UFC 100 was broadcast LIVE on an LED video wall above their exotic 11-acre tropical pool.

Ticketmaster.com announce the cancellation of the band in the UFC 100 event and it was confirmed later at the band’s official website.

And here’s their complete statement:

Facts- Limp Bizkit did NOT, in any way, cancel the UFC100 concert in Las Vegas. Truth is UFC and Interscope records could not come to an agreement on certain DVD rights. With all respect to Mandalay Bay, The UFC were also unhappy with LB’s decision of wanting to switch the performance from the Beach at Mandalay Bay with its inappropriate layout for a heavy rock concert with Limp Bizkit, basically a stage in front of a pool, to a more standard concert venue also located at the mandalay Bay which was the House Of Blues. The UFC expressed they wanted a “party vibe” for this event and would not settle for any venue besides the Beach for this and other reasons. First, LB would like to confirm we are HUGE UFC fans and will always be, but feel it is unfair for UFC to falsely confirm and advertise that Limp Bizkit will be performing to only change their minds after many people have rearranged their lives and bought tickets to be in Vegas for this special concert. On that note we are proud to announce that we will still be performing on the same night out of respect for our fans. The details of when and where will follow shortly after this post. Again, all respect to UFC for inviting us in the first place. We will continue to support the UFC because it is our favorite MMA event. Stay tuned.

Sincerely,
Limp Bizkit

Anyway, without the Limp Bizkit, Brock Lesnar and Frank Mir’s fight will always be played. And this will be the best fight of the season. So, let us see each other at the venue this coming July 11, 2009 Saturday. After all, this is a MMA fight event and not a battle of the band. Rock on UFC!
